The Tour Plan
You will meet your guide at the Jerusalem bus station in Bethlehem, which is the last stop on bus 231 coming from Damascus Gate in Jerusalem to Bethlehem. On the way to Jericho, you will stop at Tel al-Sultan, the archeological site of the ancient city of Jericho. From here you will continue to the Mount of Temptation and walk to the monastery where according to tradition was the place Jesus fasted for 40 days and was tempted by Satan. You will enjoy the magnificent panorama view of the Great Rift Valley, Dead Sea, Jordan River, Jericho, and the mountains of Jordan.
Next, you will visit the Hisham Palace which was built in the 8th century. The palace is a great example of Islamic architecture and contains the biggest mosaic floor in the Holy Land. You will enjoy lunch and a short camel ride in Jericho. Visit the Jordan River where according to tradition Jesus was baptized. Continue to visit the site of Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and the area of the Essense. Then drive you to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, where you can swim/float. On the way back, you will stop at a vantage point to watch the sunset over the Jerusalem wilderness.
Where will we meet
We will meet at 8 or 9 am at Bethlehem 300 Checkpoint, and from there the experience will start and finish by the end of the day.
